Opening the Future
The Basler Afrika Bibliographien are taking new paths in supporting academic research. Through the „Opening the Future“ programme, we are changing the way scholarly literature is funded and accessed.
The principle for libraries is simple: by supporting us with a fixed annual contribution, your institution gains immediate access to 58 specially curated titles from our backlist. All titles are provided DRM-free with unlimited concurrent access for your patrons after three years.
We use these contributions exclusively to publish our new books directly as open access online editions. Together, we are creating a fair and equitable system that makes knowledge accessible worldwide free of charge – while sustainably enhancing your local collection with high-quality, unrestricted content.

Sales Contact international
Our international distribution is managed by African Books Collective. This partnership ensures widespread availability of our books, including listings with Lightning Source in the US and UK. Thanks to print-on-demand technology, our books are never out of print.
All our e-books are available as DRM-free PDF files, with selected titles also offered in popular e-reader formats, allowing unrestricted reading.
