4th Namibia Research Day
September 29, 2017
Dear Friends of the Basler Afrika Bibliographien,
We would like to invite everybody working on Namibia to participate in the 4th Namibia Research Day taking place on Friday 29th September 2017.
The Namibia Research Day brings together graduate students and scholars of all levels and from all disciplines to share their research, experiences and expectations. It offers the possibility to discuss ongoing or recently completed research on Namibia in an interdisciplinary context. The Day also offers the possibility for common reflections on a variety of (practical) issues with which researchers of Namibia are faced with, such as archival and institutional opportunities and challenges or questions regarding academic cooperations.
The Namibia Research Day explicitly addresses all disciplines, themes and topics. Interested participants are requested to send a brief research/project summary (not more than one page). The final format and programme of the Day will be communicated at a later stage, depending on the number of participants and the disciplines represented. The evening event on 29th September will be the opening of a historical photo exhibition from the archives of the Basler Afrika Bibliographien.
You can find the programme here.
The Namibia Research Day is jointly organised by the Centre of African Studies and the Basler Afrika Bibliographien, Namibia Resource Centre & Southern Africa Library. Participation is free of charge; a limited number of private accommodation possibilities can be arranged.
We are looking forward to a lively Research Day!
